"Our practice first purchased the Genie computer system in 1990. It required a bit of a committment of time to convert from a paper to computer system, but it is definitely worth it! As our practice has grown (from one to three doctors and 14 staff), I really don't know how I would run the office without Genie. The seamless integration of all components of the Genie system allows the doctors and staff to take care of patients needs, with everything they need to know about the patient at their fingertips. No more running around to find files or even worse... lost files! I have also been impressed with Genie's committment to keeping our system up-to-date and listening to their client's recommendations for upgrades.

One of the nicer features of the Genie system is it's ability to communicate with other programs and instrumentation through an interface. During pretesting, our staff measure the patients autorefraction and K readings which are inserted into the exam screen with a simple keystroke. I also have a ReSeeVit photography system. Genie allows me to automatically link my Genie patient record to the ReSeeVit record, again with a simple keystroke.

In addition, I highly recommend the UNIX language. Our system is practically "bomb-proof" .... it works 24 hours per day, problem free without rebooting or fussing with it."
